The Phoenix made its debut in December 2021, and has quickly become a pinnacle of excitement. Last year it solidified its place in history by becoming the richest greyhound race worldwide, boasting an astonishing $1.65 million prize pool, including a $1 million winner’s cheque.
In 2023, the third running builds on everything the first two years established; the finest greyhounds on the planet, including the winner of the first two editions of The Phoenix – Wow She’s Fast. She’s won more prizemoney than any other dog in the world (almost $2.4m), and if she makes it three-from-three she could claim the title of ‘Greatest Of All Time.’ Seeing her run in what may be her swansong should be on every sports fan’s bucket list
Add in Group winners Hector Fawley, Jay Is Jay, Alpha Zulu, Schillaci, Big Energy; plus NZ pin-up dog Postman Pat and exciting prospect Pass The Buck (8 wins from 10 starts), and it’s the race of dreams.
